Wow, it was simply a wonderful first show!

The inaugural ‘Ham Stakes’ show was a resounding success, with two terrific teams standing toe-to-toe in competition, to win the adulation of the crowd which turned up at the Gearin on 17th June 2010.

The warm applause, the terrific laughter, the hoots of ecstasy… it all happened!

A full report is on it’s way soon.

The inaugural Ham Stakes show is looking even more fantastic with some brilliant bribes (um… prizes) contributed by local businesses keen to jump on the Theatresports® train.

Audience members who attend our first show at the Hotel Gearin on Thursday July 17th, will be in the running to win one of these wonderful gifts.

While new sponsors are still being finalised, it can be announced that the following businesses are now a part of the Theatresports® Blue Mountains family;

portrait of musician and composer, Victor SpiegelThe wonderfully talented musician and sounds effects architect, Victor Spiegel has joined the cast for our first Ham Stakes show on June 17th.

Victor has a wealth of music experience, including the show ‘How We First Met’ in San Francisco as well as working with the ‘Bats Improv‘.

Victor will be providing all the sounds effects and music for our Ham Stakes show on June 17th in Katoomba. These sounds could be anything from a brand new jazz composition to a weird and wonderful new age sound-scape – and sound effects such as creaking doors in haunted houses, the ‘sproing!’ of bed-springs of a romantic interlude, or the charmingly sweet sounds of a dawn chorus as our talented improvisers have wonderful adventures and get into sticky situations on stage.

All of Victor’s works on the night will be completely improvised, absolutely made up and off-the-cuff, adding that extra dimension to what will be a terrific night of excellent entertainment.
