Theatresports® Blue Mountains has gone from strength to strength in the last few months. From humble beginnings, this troupe of talented improvisational actors has grown into a force to be reckoned with. Their “Ham Stakes” shows can always be counted on to provide lots of laughs, intrigue and no shortage of naughty bits.

Saturday night’s premiere show at the new venue of Leura’s beloved Hotel Alexander was no exception.

Performances were strong and energetic, ranging from a film noir murder mystery to love stories to the love life of a praying mantis to a documentary about the advantages of swamp drainage. It was a steep learning curve. The audience was enthralled and in fits of laughter throughout the show. Three teams battled it out to great applause and much hilarity and served up an excellent night’s entertainment.

If you haven’t seen a Ham Stakes show or witnessed Theatresports® Blue Mountains’ other excellent show “Waldorf Salad” at The Waldorf Leura Gardens Resort, you must do yourself a favour and take yourself on an outing.

Definitely a first rate show guaranteed to produce top quality laughs. See www.hamstakes.com.au for details.

We had a wonderful show last Friday 25th November at the Waldorf Leura Gardens Resort… with an extra special experience; a marriage proposal on our stage!

Philip contacted the Waldorf Leura Gardens resort several weeks before the show, requesting stage-time so that he could propose to his beloved Del during the show.

Between us, we concocted a special ‘accidental’ moment, when we lured Del on stage with Phillip, apparently to participate in a scene. It was then up to Phillip, and he certainly leaped in boots and all… down on bended knee.

It was a very emotional moment, and after a very shell-shocked “Yes” from Del, the audience went wild!

Wow!

Next show is our famous Ham Stakes pub show at the Alexandra Hotel in Leura on Saturday 3rd December… details here.

See you there!

Last Friday 28th October, we had a terrific time at the Waldorf Leura Gardens Resort. It was an action-packed show with two teams; The Red Belly Black Cats and The Bard’s Bastards – both vying for the ultimate glory of the audience’s adulation.

And adulation they were both bathed with in equal measure. It was a loud audience indeed, and they certainly knew how to join in and have a party!

Speaking of joining in, we had an extra special moment, when we discovered a lovely couple staying at the Resort, were celebrating their 45th anniversary, and a birthday too. It didn’t take too much prompting for them to demonstrate a kiss, which kept on going, and going, and going, and…..

As always, every show was completely improvised, and with our two lovebirds, it was a special show indeed.

Next show… don’t miss it; see the details here.
