With the July school holidays fast approaching, we’re continuing our tradition of shows especially for the little ones aged 2-8. This time we’re presenting The Marvellous Sock Machine at the wonderful Pigeon Lane at ONE88. It’s a story of sock buddies, Spud and Gromit, who are inundated with washing soooo many socks – and they’re always losing them! What are they to do? An interactive show for kids, The Marvellous Sock Machine is a delightful 50-minute show featuring songs, loads of fun and plenty of Silly Sock Sensations! It is an interactive theatrical experience for children aged 2 – 8. Read more..
Stepping out of Katoomba and rolling down the hill to Penrith, we’re again staging The Goon Show LIVE! at a special Fathers’ Day weekend at the Penrith Gaels Cultural and Sporting Association, presenting another 3 original cult episodes; an evening show on Saturday 1st September, and an afternoon matinée on Fathers’ Day Sunday 2nd.
October is going to be very special indeed. We’re lucky enough to be hosting the talented Chrissie Shaw as she revisits her show Bijou – a cabaret of Secrets and Seduction, accompanied on piano by Alan Hicks. Bijou is a cabaret, yet it is also a play in disguise. It tells the story of a woman whose life is defined by wars. Theatre goers and lovers of cabaret alike will love Bijou, as will aficionados of fine music who will be treated to Poulenc, Saint-Saens, Debussy, Erik Satie, Jean Lenoir, Friedrich Hollander, Kurt Weill, Emil Jacques-Dalcroze etc. Those familiar with, or indeed studying French language, culture and history, literature, music etc. will particularly enjoy Bijou. Details and bookings.
We have more theatre and other live performance events on the way, which we will announce as dates and details are confirmed. In the meantime, be sure to keep an eye on our events pages on our website here or on Facebook.

Eric Sykes, another special person to Goon Show and British Comedy fans generally, was born on the 4th May 1923, 96 years ago today.
He was a comedy writer and performer, who was born in Oldham, Lancashire, UK.
After performing in Royal Air Force shows during World War 2, he wrote scripts for radio shows, including Variety Bandbox (1947) and Educating Archie (1950–4). He was the creator of his own BBC series Sykes Versus TV (1959–65, 1972–80), in which he he presented simple, innocent humour without malice and with a propensity towards physical jokes and slapstick antics.
He also co-wrote many Goon Shows alongside Spike Milligan.
His film appearances include One Way Pendulum (1964), Shalako (1968), and Theatre of Blood (1973). He has written, directed, and acted in short, silent comedies such as The Plank (1967) and Rhubarb (1970), and his television series include Curry and Chips (1969) and The Nineteenth Hole (1989).
This past week we have been celebrating the centenary of Spike Milligan’s birth with various videos which float about the internet, which feature this wonderful talented man.
As part of this celebration, we are offering discount tickets to our June and July dinner and show with The Goon Show LIVE!. This promotion ends tonight, at midnight…
These tickets have been selling well, so you’d better grab them while their still warm.
Today, Monday 16th April 2018, is the centenary of Spike Milligan’s birth. Spike was the primary writer of the BBC cult The Goon Show, in which he also performed.
Without his particular brand of lunacy, our flagship show The Goon Show LIVE!, an homage to the original series, would never have happened.
In 1994, spike was awarded a lifetime achievement comedy award… and his acceptance speech was oh so typical of this great man. See the video of that historical moment on the official Goon Show LIVE! website.
To celebrate Spike Milligan’s centenary, we are offering you some birthday presents…

Last night (Friday 28th July) was our last A Dickens Bloody Christmas murder mystery dinner for Yulefest Blue Mountains at The George Boutique Hotel in Blackheath.
The team from LionCo turned up ready for fun.. and they jumped into frivolities right from the get-go.
It was a night with lots of laughs – deadly serious business really.
