a-bucket-of-GoonsThe World is FULL of Goon-type-NUTS

…and we’re pleased to note that a few of them turn up at our shows. At last Saturday’s Yulefest Dinner and Show, we had a room full of them.

One of their number was Gary from Rozelle, who sent us this wonderful note, which we’ve pasted here in full;

My Dad is a Goon Show nut and introduced me and my ears to the show at a very young age. When I heard there was a live version, I had to go and see it.

I can’t wait to tell my Dad, back in the old country, about it he (and his ears) will be extremely jealous.

The show was great! Three (and a bit) Goon Shows performed by a group of very impressive soundalike actor-type performers who were obviously enjoying it as much as I was.

The musical interludes featured a very impressive guitarist/vocalist who ably filled the spots of the indisposed Max Geldray and Ray Ellington. The performances were fitted between the courses of the meal we were having, which worked quite well.

It was a great evening – well worth the trip and the money and I’d recommend it to all comedy fans. After all, this is where it all began!

Exits.

Waits for next show to go to…

We couldn’t put it any better Gary – and thanks our steaming friend, we’d love to see you at another one of our shows.

One of the things we’re especially pleased as punch about, is the number of new audiences who are discovering the joy of the cult comedy that the Goons cooked up.

Last Saturday night was no exception, with several ‘Goon-type-virgins’ coming along to our Yulefest 2017 Dinner and Show.

Here’s one of them, Melissa, explaining what she thought of the show;

We’re pretty chuffed… and given that there are only 4 shows left of our July season, we can’t wait to convert a few more Goon Fans.

Be sure to Book Your Tickets, or read about the show here.

Raving audiences are one thing, but returning CraZy People is another…

This here is Patrick, whose attendance at last Saturday’s dinner and show was his 4th The Goon Show LIVE! experience.

Here’s what he said after the show;

With only 4 shows left for this year’s Yulefest Blue Mountains at The Metropole in Katoomba, you’d better get those tickets booked.

A perfect night’s entertainment, great food and wonderful memories… it’s a night out for British Comedy fans.

The word is that a dreadful contagion, The Lurgi, is sweeping Britain, indeed the world… and it’s now known to be invading Australia’s Blue Mountains.

Here is a YouTube clip of a victim who is brought down by this terrible disease while attempting to sing…

The only known cure is prolonged exposure to said infection.

Warning; when exposed to this pestilence, fits of laughter and other unsightly physical responses may affect the victim.

The Famous Eccles and his sidekick the eternal schoolboy, Bluebottle, are slipping into their pajamas and snuggling down for a snooze ahead of tomorrow night’s opening show.

Little ‘Bottle, all warm in bed, dreaming of jellie-babies and sausages; while Eccles stretches the limitations of his intelligence pondering the big questions of life, such as… why can’t you get the wood – and, why does everyone tell poor Eccles to shut-up (oh, that’s me!)?
