There are still great tickets available for our July dinner and shows for Yulefest Blue Mounntains 2017.
It is a thrill to present, for one night only, Mr. Vent Thomas who toured with Spike Milligan as his Stage Director in 1984/5; one New Zealand and two Australian tours. They were Spike’s ‘Final Farewell Tour’ and ‘Second Final Farewell Tour’.
Vent will be appearing as a very special guest on the opening night of The Goon Show LIVE!’s Yulefest Blue Mountains dinner and show, on Saturday 1st July 2017.
After the show, Vent will take the stage to remember some of his experiences of travelling and working with Spike. Vent says, “There are a ton of stories from those tours. Touring with Spike was of course the land of never a dull moment.”
Some of Vent’s stories include;
- The time that Spike went walkabout before opening night in Canberra; a show that the Prime Minister was attending
- Spike’s intolerance of journalists
- The challenges of finding suitable accommodation for Spike
- Why Spike had to be locked-up in the dressing rooms at the Theatre in Alice Springs
After a live interview, there will be a short Q&A.
To whet your appetite, here’s an ABC recording of Spike in his element when he played the Octagon Theatre at the University of WA in 1984. (Apologies for the quality, but well worth the time)
Theatre is all about experience; if you want to experience some of the best that the Blue Mountains offers, go and see ‘Breaking Bread’ at the Wentworth Falls School of Arts.
Here’s the official blurb…

We’ve just confirmed a group booking for one of our Yulefest Blue Mountains dinner-shows in July… for 18 people!
When are you coming to one of our shows?
It is the Best of British Comedy.
10am today (Sunday) is the last MOUSEterChef school holiday show.
Come and meet our 3 Blind Mice as they go on a quest to get their tails sewn back on, and along the way meet all sorts of fascinating characters from the nursery rhymes of your childhood.
- Where? The GingerBread House Katoomba
- When? 10am
Wow, the 3 Blind Mice have just performed their last show for these school holidays.
What FUN it has been… the audiences who’ve come along have enjoyed themselves almost as much as the Mice have.
Our Mice, Abby, Benji and Charlie, and all the other characters who appeared in the show, say ‘Thank You’ for coming along.
Thank you too to the staff and management of The Gingerbread House Katoomba, who’ve put up with all the scurrying around, and the bits of cheese that the Mice have been dropping everywhere.
Plans are already underway for our next school holiday show. If you want to be kept in the know about upcoming shows, subscribe on this Entertainment Blue Mountains webpage.
The amount of trouble our 3 Blind Mice get up in the MOUSEterChef kitchen! It’s enough to send the Crooked Man into a tizz, like it did in this morning’s show.
The Crooked Man, Mary Littlelamb and the 3 Blind Mice all have only 1 more show to go… come along, tomorrow, bring the kids and start your day with a bit of a laugh.
Where & When? The GingerBread House Katoomba, tomorrow (Sunday) at 10am
So good to know that The Goon Show LIVE! is still pulling in the audiences… May 10th show SOLD OUT!
MOUSEterChef; tails of 3 Blind Mice… what can possibly happen when 3 visually challenged rodents find themselves in the kitchen with Mrs. Farmerswife?
What do they do when she pulls out a very large knife – named Harvey!?
Where & When? The GingerBread House Katoomba at 10am – today, Saturday 28th
