For those Goon-types (and anyone who LOVES British Comedy) who are looking for something unique and fun, now’s the time.
The Goon Show LIVE! troupe is making it’s way to Woy Woy on the NSW Central Coast, for a one show only event; On the Spike!
Woy Woy was the Aussie home of the Milligan Family, when they emigrated in the 1950s. His younger brother Desmond Patrick Milligan lived there with their parents. Spike visited often and was dubbed ‘the boy from Woy Woy’. He even wrote his novel Puckoon at his parents’ home.
Because of this special connection, The Goon Show LIVE! is appearing at the Woy Woy Leagues Club on Saturday 26th September 2015, with a special show dedicated to Spike Milligan.
‘On the Spike‘ will feature three Milligan episodes; The Phantom Head Shaver of Brighton; The Dreaded Batter Pudding Hurler (of Bexhill-on-Sea) and, The Tale of Men’s Shirts (the first time this episode is being performed by the troupe). All three are hilarious and very typical Spike tales – guaranteed rib-ticklers.
Tickets are selling well, including to several contingents of regular The Goon Show LIVE! devotees, some of whom have been regularly attending shows since the troupe’s first appearance in 2013; CraZy People!
