David Attrill

[one_half]David plays the role of Greenslade in ‘The Goon Show LIVE!’, as well as a host of other wonderful ‘voices’.

David is in the process of kick starting a career which has spanned a couple of centuries and several decades. After numerous commercials, roles in mini series and performances at the New Theatre from 1984 to 1993 he regards a memorable production of Stallerhof with Harlos Productions at Downstairs Belvoir in 1989 a highlight,

In 1993 David became a student. He then was involved with student associations at University of Western Sydney for far too long with an occasional performance in community theatre or co-operative productions mainly in the Penrith area. His favourite roles being Henry VIII in Nicholson’s Katherine Howard and a stuttering 8 year old R-R-R-Raymond in Potter’s superb “Blue Remembered Hills”. Also, after discovering the ten minute play in “Rumple of the Sydenham Line “ in “Shorts in Winter“ in 2003, David has been involved in the Short+Sweet festivals in Sydney as actor, director and writer and more recently judge over 7 of the last 9 years of the festival.

In the last two years he has directed and performed in Shakespeare’s “All’s Well That Ends Well” for the Acting Factory, played Gonzalo in the “Steampunked Tempest and Prospero for the Acting Factory’s “Tempest” and Polonius for Emu Heights Productions in their 2011 “Hamlet”. He also performed in three new Australian plays “25Eight” and “Shopping Centres and Gutters” working with Ira Seidenstein and in ”Malice Toward None” for 40 Watt Pearl and showed some versatility as Charlemagne in “Pippin” for Crinkle Cut Productions.

He has to confess it is 20 years since his last radio play and is delighted to rediscover the pleasures of this form of theatre, especially being part of such a delightful ensemble of talented actors. [/one_half]
